My areas of interest encompass the study of ecophysiological responses of forest tree species to the main factors that constrain growth under Mediterranean conditions. In particular, I am interested in the evolution of water use efficiency of forest tree species under the new scenarios predicted by global change studies for the Iberian Peninsula. Other areas of interest are related to plant virology and molecular characterization of phytopathogenic viruses, as well as studies of variability and molecular recombination of cereal viruses
