Research

My entire scientific career has been related to Animal Nutrition. I have acquired a broad experience in scientific research (in vivo as well as in vitro) conducted on ruminants and monogastric animals (nutrition and production). Part of my expertise includes the use of molecular techniques to study the gut microbial population, employing LC-MS/MS for un-targeted Metabolomics and data analysis, external/internal markers to study the digestibility of nutrients, isotopic enrichment to study fractional synthesis rate of protein in tissues or the use of gas chambers to study GHG emissions. My background also includes the private sector, since I collaborated actively with private companies for designing and executing studies on pharmaceutical and nutritional products for use of farm animals.
