On 24th November we held the second Early Career Researchers’ Forum dedicated to employment options beyond Academia. In this session we had the testimonies of three external guests: Javier Betrán, PhD in Plant Breeding and former UdL student; Mónica Elía, PhD in Biotechnology by the UdL; and José Luis García, research professor at Margarita Salas Center for Biological Research (CIB-CSIC). Thus, the speakers presented to the audience their different career experiences outside the doctorate, such as working for different companies in the agri-food industry, scientific teaching in secondary schools or entrepreneurship.
In addition to this, at the end of their speeches and the questions and answers session, we enjoyed a beer tasting by Maltería La Moravia, Grupo Damm. This activity was led by Neus Prieto, student of Industrial Doctorate at the University of Lleida and Maltería La Moravia.
