Dr. Laia Pellejà, new director of the Institució dels Centres de Recerca de Catalunya (CERCA) has visited Agrotecnio’s headquarters to meet with its director, José Antonio Bonet and his team. The rector of the University of Lleida, Jaume Puy, who is also an Agrotecnio researcher, has also participated in the meeting. After visiting the agrifood research centre, Pellejà moved on to the IRB Lleida headquarters to visit the other CERCA centre in the city of Lleida. This is the third institutional visit of the new director to a CERCA centre.
With a PhD in nanoscience and nanotechnology and a master’s degree in Public Management, Pellejà took over the management of the Institution of Research Centres of Catalonia (CERCA) on 1 March. Her professional career has developed mainly in various positions of responsibility at the Catalan Institute for Chemical Research (ICIQ-CERCA), of which she was the manager since 2020.
CERCA is a network of which Agrotecnio has been a member since 2015 and which seeks to promote cooperation and scientific exchange with the best centres and universities around the world, promoting transdisciplinary research, knowledge transfer and the socio-economic impact of research activity.
