I study fruit responses to stress conditions that occur during storage, with particular focus on the volatile profile. My research has always focused on fruit volatile emission and the relationships between cold storage technology and consumer acceptance. Environmental factors include practices such as fertilization, controlled atmosphere storage, and fruit shelf life during postharvest. The overall objective is to identify volatile compounds to increase consumer satisfaction and to develop predictive volatile markers for the detection of stress conditions in fruit cultivars.
