Joel Torra Farré is a professor at the School of Agricultural and Forest Engineering and Veterinary Science (ETSEAFIV) at the University of Lleida (UdL). He holds a degree in Biology (1999) and a Master’s degree in Experimental Biochemistry (2000) from the University of Barcelona, and subsequently earned his PhD in Plant Biology (2007) from UdL. His primary research interests focus on the biology, ecology, and control of weeds in agricultural systems, with particular emphasis on herbicide resistance mechanisms and the development of integrated management strategies for resistant populations. Throughout his career, he has led numerous competitive and non-competitive research projects and has authored over 90 international scientific publications. He is currently focusing on the study of the invasive weed Amaranthus palmeri.
