Alfredo Manicardi

Alfredo Manicardi is a researcher in Weed Science and Plant Biotechnology. He holds a BSc in Agricultural Sciences (2016) from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (IT) and an MSc in Agricultural Technologies (2018) from the University of Padova (IT), and later obtained his PhD as MSCA fellowship in Agriculture Science and Technologies (2025) from the University of Lleida (UdL). His research focused on chemical weed management and the mechanisms of herbicide resistance, with a particular emphasis on the invasive weed Amaranthus palmeri. He has also extensive experience in molecular biology and weed genomics. During his PhD, he attended as PhD visiting student the Colorado State University (CO, USA), the CNR (IT), and the IBMCP in Valencia. Throughout his career, he received awards for the best scientific presentation at international conference, the Best Doctoral Thesis award by the SEMh, and authored several international scientific publications.
