My research is focused on studying the incidence and adaptation of pathogenic fungi in maize crops, as well as evaluating the toxigenic capacity of the main genera producing mycotoxins in this cereal, Fusarium and Aspergillus, all in the context of climate change. In addition, mitigation strategies were developed to reduce the presence of mycotoxins both in the cereal itself and in its derivative products, with the aim of ensuring food safety.
