Alex conducts research to understand the physiology and metabolism of cattle and to improve the nutrition and management of dairy herds in order to make them more sustainable. Specific areas of interest and research activity include colostrogenesis, rumen fermentation, protein and carbohydrate metabolism, animal behaviour and management.
