Research lines
- Food processing and its impact on mycotoxins.
- Predictive mycology
- Application of near-infrared (NIR) hyperspectral image analysis for the detection of contaminated raw materials.
- Efficacy studies of mycotoxin adsorbents for animal feed.
- Exposure of different population groups to mycotoxins.
Main activities
- Isolation and characterisation of moulds present in food and feed.
- Determination of mycotoxins and metabolites.
- Fungal ecophysiology studies.
- Antifungal efficacy studies.
- Studies on the efficacy of mycotoxin adsorbents.
- In vitro bioavailability studies.
International impact
Internationally recognised expertise in studies on the prevention of fungal growth based on abiotic factors and predictive mycology.
