Project
Digital GAP
Narrowing the digital gap. Detection and control of weeds in maize and cereals using precision farming technology.
What is it?
This project aims to train advisors and farmers in the implementation of advanced technology packages and transfer the latest precision farming technologies available to the sector in order to optimise the use of herbicides.
Objectives
- Digitalise weed detection using sensors, platforms and systems that identify where unwanted vegetation is present.
- Optimise the application of herbicides (or other alternatives), saving costs and minimising environmental impact.
- Transfer this knowledge to the sector to facilitate the adoption of precision farming technologies and reduce the rural digital divide.
Who carries it out?
Agrotecnio and the University of Lleida
