Project
Diprotes
Digitalisation for efficient and sustainable truffle production.
What is it?
This is an applied research project that aims to modernise and optimise black truffle cultivation using precision farming tools and digital technologies. Led by the Agrotecnio Centre and the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia, the project implements 3D monitoring systems, sensors, geolocation and digital farm management to improve the sustainability, efficiency and profitability of truffle farms.
Objectives
- Apply precision farming techniques to black truffle cultivation.
- Digitalise farms with 3D monitoring to optimise pruning, irrigation, tillage and harvest georeferencing.
- Increase crop productivity, resource use efficiency (water and soil) and environmental sustainability.
Who carries it out?
Agrotecnio: provides knowledge and tools for precision agriculture.
CTFC: contributes its expertise in black truffle cultivation and production.
Represents a collaboration with key producers and associations: Association of Truffle Producers of Catalonia, Spanish Federation of Mushroom and Truffle Producers, National Association of Precision Agriculture, Catalan Agricultural Machinery Cluster.
Funding
Funded by the Department of Agriculture of the Government of Catalonia. Co-funded by the European Union under intervention 7201 of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027 and with the support of AEI-Agri.
