My areas of interest include the study of the ecophysiological responses of forest tree species to the main factors limiting growth in Mediterranean conditions. In particular, I am interested in the evolution of water use efficiency in forest tree species in the new scenarios predicted by global change studies for the Iberian Peninsula. Other areas of interest are plant virology and the molecular characterisation of phytopathogenic viruses, as well as studies on the molecular variability and recombination of cereal viruses.
