I am a PhD researcher in the AfroGrow project, studying how trees and shrubs affect soil-water dynamics in agroforestry systems across sub-Saharan Africa. My research explores how woody vegetation alters soil structure, faunal activity, and microclimate, and how these interactions shape key hydrological processes such as water infiltration and seasonal soil moisture dynamics. My goal is to use these insights to promote water conservation and support the sustainable management of agroforestry systems facing growing water scarcity. It is particularly important to me to work closely with local farmers, communities, and scientists – valuing their deep knowledge and experience to ensure that research and local practice complement each other.
