Excellence and research strategy
Organisation
Agrotecnio's governance is structured through its Board of Trustees, made up of institutional representatives from the University of Lleida (UdL), the Government of Catalonia and the Institute for Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA). This body is complemented by an international Scientific Advisory Board and an Internal Scientific Management Committee, which ensure the centre's excellence and research strategy.
Board of Trustees
The governing body of the Fundació Centre de Recerca en Agrotecnologia is its Board of Trustees, made up of representatives from the University of Lleida (UdL), the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food (Generalitat de Catalunya), the Directorate-General for Research (Generalitat de Catalunya) and the Institute for Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA).

Internal Scientific Committee
In addition, the Centre has an Internal Scientific Committee (Steering Scientific Management Committee, SSMC), made up of the principal investigators from each research group, representatives of the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral research staff, the director of the centre and the people in charge of the centre’s administration, projects and communication. This committee meets every two months.
Management
José Antonio Bonet was elected director of Agrotecnio by the Foundation's Board of Trustees and has held the position since April 2023. Bonet holds a PhD in Forestry Engineering and a Master's Degree in Business Management and Administration (Executive MBA). He was previously director general of the Forestry and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC) from 2006 to 2009. A member of Agrotecnio's Forest Management research group, his research focuses on forest health and mycology, silviculture, bioenergy and protected natural areas.
