My research is about developing an integrated approach coupling monitoring of soil, sediments and water, with hydrosedimentological/hydraulic and remote sensing-derived modelling to assess: 1) the environment’s response in terms of Blue water generation, storage and transfer, and soil erosion/sediment transport to different agroforestry management techniques; 2) how is that response translated to the meso (creek/tributary) and to the macroscale (river catchment); 3) to what extent has global change modified that response so far; and 4) how will that response be for different global change projections. The approach is intended to act as a tool to select the most appropriate management techniques for a certain location regarding the specific environmental condition which is intended to be optimized (e.g., water availability, soil conservation, reduction of flood hazards and risks over the population).
