The aim of this award is to &#8220;recognise an excellent career in the field of food, nutrition and health&#8221;. Mart\u00edn Belloso was chosen from among the twenty or so candidates submitted for the 30th edition of the award. The resolution highlights the fact that she is the first Spanish woman to be a member of the Academy of the International Union of Food Science and Technology and that she has been the president of the European Federation of Food Science and Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The president of the Danone Institute, Jos\u00e9 L\u00f3pez Miranda, stressed that &#8220;the name of Mart\u00edn Belloso had to be placed alongside the winners of previous editions, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lina_Badim%C3%B3n_Maestro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lina Badim\u00f3n<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jordi_Salas_i_Salvad%C3%B3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jordi Salas-Salvad\u00f3<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jos%C3%A9_Mar%C3%ADa_Ordov%C3%A1s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jos\u00e9 M. Ordov\u00e1s<\/a>, Llu\u00eds Serra Majem, Miguel \u00c1ngel Mart\u00ednez, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cun.es\/nuestros-profesionales\/profesionales\/gema-fruhbeck-martinez\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gema Fr\u00fchbeck<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/webgrec.ub.edu\/webpages\/000003\/cas\/lamuela.ub.edu.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rosa M. Lamuela<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ramc.cat\/aw-team-member\/estruch-i-riba-ramon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ramon Estruch<\/a>, among others&#8221;. &#8220;These awards have proven over three decades to be independent, which places us at the highest level of credibility and notoriety,&#8221; he adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Olga Mart\u00edn Belloso heads Agrotechnology&#8217;s research group on <a href=\"https:\/\/agrotecnio.org\/ca\/investigacio\/noves-tecnologies-de-processament-daliments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Technologies for Food Processing<\/a>. The researcher stressed the importance of her field of research, which &#8220;allows safer and healthier food to reach consumers thanks to new technologies that improve processes and sustainability&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout her research career, Mart\u00edn has supervised 33 doctoral theses and has 375 articles in high-impact journals, 84 book chapters and 4 patents.
